Single Pass, High-Resolution Sequencing-Based HLA Typing with GS FLX and GS Junior Systems
Perform high- and medium-resolution genotyping of the class I and II loci of the Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) genes using the GS GType HLA Primer Sets. 454 Sequencing Systems’ long, clonal reads provide direct, unambiguous assignment of phase for linked polymorphisms within exons. This enables third party genotyping analysis software to perform a high-resolution allele assignment without requiring additional sequencing run iterations to resolve ambiguities, as is commonly needed with traditional capillary-based Sequence Based Typing (SBT) assays.

Exons from the HLA class I and class II loci are targeted in the GS GType MR (Medium Resolution) and HR (High Resolution) Primer Sets. MR plates are used to sequence exons in column one, or can be used in combination with HR plates to sequence all exons listed. Generic DRB primers sequence multiple members of multi-gene families (i.e. DRB1,3,4,5).
